Signs you’re not shaving properly
No matter where you go, you do want to look at your best so being properly groomed is a crucial thing to focus on. Obviously, shaving has a major role in this regard and that’s why you need to do all in your power in order to obtain the best possible results. Unfortunately, not all of us know how to shave and that’s why you have to figure out what you are doing wrong.
You don’t trim the beard before you shave
If you want to shave a large beard then most of the time your shaving tools will do an improper job. You should trim the beard as this will make it a lot easier for you and results will be great in the end. Also, you won’t have to deal with that tug and pull issue when you shave as well.
You don’t wash the face before you shave
The first thing you should do is to wash your face because this will open up the pores. As a result, the shaving experience will be faster, easier and less painful. This will also remove toxins from your face and further improve the shaving experience.
Not using hot water
As we mentioned earlier, you do need to open up your pores. Using regular water and washing your face is a good idea, but another great thing you can do is to take a hand towel and soak it in very hot water. You will need to wait a little bit until it cools down and then you can place it on your face for a few minutes.
Not using enough shaving cream
Most men tend to use less shaving cream in order to save some more in the long run. However, you should try to use as much as you need because this is a lubricant and it will also protect your skin from the razor blades. If you won’t add enough shaving cream you will experience more cuts and bruises.
Rinsing with hot water
It’s a good idea to use hot water before you shave, but removing the extra cream and cleansing your face require cold water. If you use hot water here you will basically place your skin under pressure as the pores will still be open.
Shaving the same spot multiple times
Use a good shaving tool and make sure that you don’t opt for a second pass. Instead, go through each portion of your face a single time to get the best results and experience.
Pressing too hard
Obviously you never want to press too hard. If you do that, you will just encourage the appearance of irritation or even experience cuts. Avoid that at all costs simply by pressing naturally and avoiding hard presses.
Using the wrong razor
There are many types of razors on the market and you should try to find which one suits your needs. The ergonomic razors are maybe the best ones on the market and you should totally consider trying them out as they are superior when compared to the old school ones.
Other signs that you are not shaving properly:
